What are festivities and social awareness days, the origin?

As you know, most of these festivities and awareness day are created by Mr marketing.

That’s right, some of your favourite holidays, like Christmas, are created by a brand.

Did you know that Santa Claus was originally green, but Coca-Cola came along and took it over, so now it’s red and everything about Christmas is red?

Or that 4 February is World Cancer Day which was created by the International Union Against Cancer (UICC) in 2000, is celebrated to raise awareness, improve education and inspire action around the world, with the aim of creating a world where cancer deaths are prevented and cancer care is equal for all.

As you can see, every holiday or awareness day has its own story behind it.

Use them correctly for the benefit of your brand

So, do I have to use this kind of days for my post on social media? Yes and no.

On the one hand, you obviously have to know exactly what your brand is and what it stands for.

On the other hand, you have to know what’s going on in the world.

In other words, awareness days can be a great reason to talk about your company online and an important part of your social media strategy because it’s a great way to show what you care about and, in that way, create stronger connections with your audience.
